THE ROLE: As Social Media Officer / Community Manager, you will have a solid understanding of how various social media channels work, the ability to build up communities and optimize content to ensure that it is engaging. You will represent the interests of the Renew Europe Group, be a team player in our Communication Unit, and collaborate with our MEPs, Group and EP staff.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Executing and developing our social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
Community management - building an audience, responding to readers’ comments and ensuring customer engagement, developing the use of our participative platform (Decidim) to engage with our audiences.
Developing our social media networks through influencers and/or partnerships.
Creating and administering content on all our social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn as well as others.
Optimizing Renew Europe’s pages within each social media platform.
Monitoring site metrics, KPIs, social metrics; analysing data.
Continuously improving our practices by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
Collaborating with other units/departments to manage content, identify key players and coordinate social media campaigns.
Travelling to Strasbourg as well as to other European locations.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
A diploma or other relevant professional qualifications.
At least five years of full-time work experience in social media and community management.
Proven work experience with, or solid awareness of participative/deliberative tools.
Excellent writing, presentation, communication and consulting skills.
Knowledge of social analytics tools.
A positive attitude, attention to detail, ability to multitask, organise work and meet deadlines.
Drive, resilience and willingness to try new ideas.
Fluency in English and a good understanding of French; knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage.
A good understanding of European institutions and EU politics.
Political skills, instincts and affinity with Renew Europe’s values and political priorities.
Flexibility, adaptability to varying workloads, a willingness to work irregular hours as well as an ability to work well in a team in an international environment.
Under article 12, (2) of the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants (CEOS) of the European Communities you must also: be a national of a Member State of the European Union and entitled to your full rights as citizen; have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service; produce the appropriate references/certificates for performance of the duties.
