Assistant(e) au Secrétariat Général - Groupe des Verts / EFA au Parlement européen

VACANCY NOTICE - CONTRACTUAL AGENT, FG III, UNTIL THE 30/06/2024

This is to inform you that the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament is looking for a full-time assistant to the Secretary General’s office. Fixed-term contractual agent contract, function group III, until the end of the parliamentary legislature (30/06/2024) renewable. Starting date: as soon as possible Tasks to be performed:

  • Coordinate with the responsible advisors of the Group an overview of items on the agenda of the various EP committees (‘committee highlights’) and communicate this to the relevant parts of the Group;

  • Monitoring the European political agenda, including of Council and Commission and identify items of particular importance for the Group, which are of a horizontal nature & developing input based on this monitoring for the office of the Secretary General;

  • Participation in the working groups related to the Group's 2024 Information Campaign;

  • Close media monitoring (including social media channels) on questions of strategic importance for the Group in various EU Member States and developing input for the work of the Secretary General`s office;

  • Preparation of background notes for various meetings of the Secretary General of the Group & Preparation of the minutes and conclusions from various meetings and organisation of the follow-up action (in close coordination with the Secretary General)

  • Logistical and administrative support to the office of the Secretary General with regards to the day to day running of the Group, in close cooperation with other relevant departments of the Group.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Professional experience of 3 years or more;

  • Proficiency in English and in at least one other EU language

  • Excellent communication skills and experience in managing information flows in large and complex working environments

  • Excellent organisational skills and proven record of strategic planning or project management involving several countries as well as political initiatives

  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple requests and projects at the same time

  • Excellent proven abilities to monitor, analyse developments related to European Politics

  • Proven skills in drafting notes on political development, including on EU politics

  • excellent coordination skills with regards to organisational tasks as well as political initiatives

  • Very good knowledge of the EU institutions (including the European Parliament), European Politics and the political landscape of several EU member states

  • Strong team player who is open-minded, constructive and has experience in working in a multi-cultural team

Desired assets:

  • Interest in the political work of the Greens/EFA group.

  • Experience in the European Parliament.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Experience in managing databases of contacts and other relevant information for organisational purposes

Under article 12 (2) of the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants (CEOS) of the European Communities, candidates must:

  • be citizen of an EU Member State; unless an exception is authorised by the authority referred to article 6 (1);

  • enjoy full rights as citizen;

  • have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service;

  • meet the character requirements for the duties involved.
